E.ON Energy Trading takes top award for European gas trading
E.ON Energy Trading was named Energy Risk magazine’s 2010 European Natural Gas House of the Year at a ceremony in London last night.
Energy Risk is one of the world’s premier monthly publications covering global energy markets and the Energy Risk Awards are given every year to reward excellence in the energy trading sector.
Ingolf Hoven, Director of Gas and Oil Trading for E.ON Energy Trading, received the award saying: “We’re delighted to have been honoured in this way by Energy Risk. Over the past 12 months we’ve worked hard to expand our trading activity and build on what was already a strong platform. We’re now recognized as one of the key players in Europe.”
Earlier this year E.ON Energy Trading was named as one of the top 10 gas traders overall in Energy Risk magazine’s Commodity Rankings, which are voted on annually by the industry.
E.ON Energy Trading, backed by one of the broadest and most diverse power and gas asset bases in Europe, traded 1,498 billion kWh of gas and 1,240 billon kWh of power in 2009. The company is active at all major exchanges and gas trading hubs throughout Europe.
