Actively influencing frameworks for trading activities
Employee focus: Henrike Osthus – Market Rules Analyst

Henrike joined the E.ON Graduate Trainee Program in 2004, after completing a master’s degree in Science of Management. During her one-and-a-half years with E.ON, Henrike has worked across many different departments in the company. She’s currently a market rules analyst in the Market Rules department at E.ON Energy Trading in Düsseldorf.

"I keep track of regulatory changes in the European energy industry and monitor their potential impact on our business. By working with associations and through direct contact with decision makers, I’m able to actively influence regulatory frameworks that affect our trading activities. Within our team I’m responsible for issues concerning the Italian, Spanish and French energy markets, as well as regulatory issues affecting emissions and renewables trading. To succeed at my job I have to be a good networker, both within E.ON and with external stakeholders. What I like most about my job is dealing with international trading issues, which helps me to gain an in-depth understanding of industry developments across Europe. My job also allows me to work with colleagues from abroad, which helps give me greater insight into which measures we can be taken to improve our business opportunities. Energy is one of the most fascinating and challenging topics in the world today. You never stop learning, because there are so many issues to look at. E.ON is a very successful international company that offers great job opportunities and a challenging work environment."
