We aim to offer best value for E.ON's coal-fired power stations and for our trading partners by efficiently managing the entire coal supply chain from port to power station combining quality, timing, and price requirements.

• we control our transport supply chain by operating our own fleet of large dry bulk vessels on mid- and long-term time charters
• we lock-in costs and manage price volatility as a leading participant in the financial coal and freight derviatives market

We trade a wide range of physical and financial coal products globally

• Coal – API2/4/6, NYMEX, financial coal derivatives, physical coal;
• Freight – C4/C7 and 4TC freight derivatives, physical freight (Cape and Panamax vessels);
• more than 20 million metric tons of coal sourced for own use and third parties in 2011;
• 269 million metric tons of coal traded in 2011;
• E.ON operates a Responsible Procurement Policy.
