What is the Front Office?
This is where the actual trading activities take place. Our Front Office is the central point for the optimization of the E.ON asset portfolio as well as for proprietary and intraday trading activities.

Energy traders, analysts and optimizers. People working in the Front Office need a mathematical and financial mindset, and the creativity to see opportunities in the markets. They have to evaluate complex information in a short time period and must be able to make quick decisions.

After completing a Masters in Chemistry and a course in Business Administration in the UK, David joined the E.ON Energy Trading International Corporate Management Graduate Program before joining the Coal, Bio-Fuels and Freight team in Düsseldorf. His role as an energy trader requires excellent communication skills, risk management expertise and a strong financial mindset.

"My department handles physical and financial coal and freight trading, the logistics involved and position management. I work on the financial coal and freight trading desk. Working closely with my team, I create and execute trading strategies for financial coal and freight products from a hedging and proprietary trading perspective. I also deliver daily reporting on profit and loss for my team, while developing my personal trading abilities. I think life at E.ON Energy Trading is great. I really enjoy living and working in the city. It makes balancing work and private life so much easier."
